  • Mean Spirited Review

Man, this guy Dan Fritter is more like a Canadian demolition squad than a critic. I think the decision was made not to like the Thunderbird well before he ever evaluated it. Not very accurate and very petty.
    Jerk comes to mind.

Opinions are like ***holes, everybody has one .... I don't think my baby looks like a bloated whale. Funny how when something is perceived as a failure all these self appointed experts have to jump on the bandwagon to confirm they were right all along.

Truth be known this a--hole never got one to try for longer than a normal test drive. Canadas motherland has produced some of the most god awful cars on the planet. Remember Ford saved there pride and joy the Jag.

The photo gallery is really good!

I hate it when these testers take a car for a day or so and trash it!
I guess he must have read a bunch of stuff in other mags before writing this. It seems that he put all the reports together with his own take.

A lot of it is true! I worry that since Ford has closed their eyes on not only our T-Birds but the LS and the 3.9L engine, we may run into parts issues sooner than we think! I doubt if there will be any after market companies like YEAR ONE who will cater to our needs!

Wow, I didn't realize I had bought such an ugly slug; I guess I'll have to go trade for a faster better looking car. NOT!

I am embarassed to think of him as a Canadian. Such poor automotive journalisim. I seriously doubt that he drove a thunderbird for more than 15 minutes. We'll just have to ignore such a poor piece of trash.
                Take care.

When I pull up in my Cashmere most people tell me that it is one of the most beautiful cars they have ever seen. As for power, mine must be a freaK because this car will make you sit up and take notice. It actually reminds me of a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT 429 car I owned back in the day.

Someone needs to tell him not to give up his day job.

I'm with Robbie 199. Just last weekend while my wife and I were out cruising, no less than three people pulled alongside at stop signs and audibly admired the 2003 MSG with saddle interior. One guy, tattooed everywhere and riding a big Harley hog, said that it was "the nicest ride he'd ever seen!" I thought that the initial reaction would die down, but three years later this car is still turning heads. As for power, I still enjoy blowing by the Corvettes on the two lane roads.

Odd article. The writer really dislikes the car and then tells the reader to buy one in the very last paragraph.

                          Re: Mean Spirited Review

Ford's only problem with the "new" Thunderbird was the marketing. While it's true that they did cut some corners (e.g., no auto-dimming rear view mirror, no keyless locking keypad, and virtually limiting almost eveyone to black interiors), the car itself is outstanding, in my opinion. It's why I tried so hard (and succeeded, thankfully) to get one!

As you said, the writer obviously had decided not to like the car before he even drove it.

A very good friend of mine recently bought a 2006 Mercedes SLK Convertible 2 seater. Yeah, it's expensive, but a little cramped, with less trunk space than the T-Bird (none at all when the top retracts). You also need a PHD to figure out the dashboard. I don't see how you could take 2 people cross country in it with luggage bigger than a two tote bags.

I mention this only because every time he sees my Torch Red '02, he always says (unsolicited by me), "man, that's really a nice looking car".
