Well I'm no expert here but I can spit and hit a jag a vet a bmw etc etc. I.E. no big deal. When I drive around peoples heads still turn I get compliments all the time, people wave. this tells me we have somthing appriciated and rare enough to cause a stir in the bones, Now to me thats what its all about. If someone wants to bad mouth a tbird, I guess he must be stuck with one of the other ones.

All I can discern from the article is that there must be two versions of the Thunderbird out there. There's the one that I and the people on this board and most owners have...........and then there is the one this moron writer drove.

One thing that this weird review pointed out to me that I hadn't noticed is the fact that there is no obvious "Ford" badging on the car. Bet that was a fight in the marketing department!

He liked the vette, comparison to the 2005 vette convertible we are 12" longer, however we are 6" narrower, and only 2.9" higher. We do weigh a little more, about 500 pounds BUT their base price was $13,090 HIGHER. How many people stop and look at a 2005 vette? Not many compared to our birds!

Wonder what he thinks of the Pontiac Soltus / Saturn Sky. Front engine, rear wheel drive but GM put the transmission in the trunk. They have less than 1/3 the space we have, and it must be in SMALL chunks.

Man, this guy Dan Fritter is more like a Canadian demolition squad than a critic. I think the decision was made not to like the Thunderbird well before he ever evaluated it. Not very accurate and very petty.

Well I'll tell you something that happened the other night , I'm a member of the show biz Society club here in Vegas and most of the members ..well.. drive high dollar cars ...anyway when I drove up some off the members were checking out my merlot Bird and were saying to me wow what a cool car. When I went home that nightI had to wipe off the finger prints on the windows from the looky lou's. Dan open your eyes

What I most liked about the review was his line, "of course, in grand Ford tradition they screwed it up" refering to Ford adding rear seating in 1958. Some people did not like this but sales shot up. The number one car builder General Motors then got into the personal luxury car lineup with the Buick Riviera, Pontiac Grand Prix and in 1966 the Oldsmobile Toronado and later the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Millions of people loved these cars. Would these cars have ever been built, if not for the Thunderbird? Not bad for a screwup.

I saw a Saturn on Friday the top drops into the trunk (ala the '57 Ford Retrackable but with no box for storage under the top) with the top down only about 4inch deep by 24-36 long. Curtis
