not happening on our 02 but I noticed that it was happening on James Perry's car a few weeks ago - pretty messy looking. I think Julie has a good idea about temporarily fixing it with the clear nail polish. Has anyone tried that that is having the problem? It seems to me that the sooner you can catch the problem and fix, the less chance of it really going bad.
Dot beat me to the punch at mentioning mine. It was one of the 1st things I noticed when considering purchasing the car. It appears that once the weak portion peeled, it has not gotten any worse.
The handles are on my list of small fixes to take care of before parts become obsolete.
Hi guys... just joined the other day.... first post.
Bought my 04 Light Ice Blue metallic a few weeks ago.
The passenger side pull handle on mine is like that too. When my wife and I first checked out the car at the dealership, she cut her finger on it getting out. She named her "Christine" because she drew blood.
My immediate fix is to file it down. I'll use epoxy or something to cover the seam where it is peeling. Thanks for the idea.
This same problem showed up on our 03 on the driver's side.
I took it to the dealer and he said it was covered under warranty, so I asked him to check the other door, and he said it also felt that it was peeling.
Both sides were replaced. The new handles feel smooth to the touch.
