One feature to look for in satellite radios is the "replay" feature - designed to be able to rewind and listen to something over again. Another benefit is that it uses the replay memory to buffer the broadcast and eliminate most of the short-duration dropouts you hear when going under overpasses, etc.

It appears that some of the interface equipment for XM or Sirius are no longer available for the 2005 TB. Has anyone had luck finding the needed components?

Here is a link to the Ford XMDFOR100. It worked great on my 2004 Ford Thunderbird which I no longer have. So long as your Ford Radio has the SAT button and is the original radio that came with the Thunderbird this will work. I do have a complete unit that I was going to sell on Ebay if you are interested. It is exactly like the one shown in the link:

Installation is not difficult if you are at all handy. I put my antenna in the far right corner of the dash and never experienced a dropout. There are no cables to cut or splice just plug and play (complete directions are included) . You have to remove the original radio and plug the cables in the back of the radio. There is sufficient room in the rear platform of the radio compartment to accomodate the 2 modules. I also have an original Tbird hard top cover that is used when the hard top is stored on the stand if anyone is interested. Send Private message if interested.
