Well, it appears as if you are good to go for a couple more years.

I have to comment on the grill. I remember when Mayes was announcing the new "3 bar grill" that would be incorporated into basically all cars but the Mustang. My initial thought was they needed to build a car that people would want to buy. You really limit that by having to have a specific grill. I gave it a thumbs down. Its ok to have it, it's not ok to "have" to have it. If that makes sense.

As far as the Flex, I don't see it as a saviour to Ford. The Edge will help more in that respect. It will get free press and will appeal to a small audience. It is nice to have choices though. In the past you were limited to one full size, one mid size, one compact, etc. People are starting to get some choices now from Ford.

Does Ford make only one "performance" sport coupe (Mustang)? This makes most car guys want to look somewhere else. Probably most of us with Tbirds will just want to keep them rather than go for a Mustang because the only one of them that is really that appealing is the Shelby Cobra and it is around $50,000 + dealer add-on.

Guess I should have looked here sooner. I'm looking around and Flex and Edge are in the running..... now if only I could do that "with Money" part I'd be ok.

            Hi there,

Looks like a loser to me. The front off an old Range Rover and the back end off an old square van. I guess it is a practical shape for fitting people and cargo in but certainly not for aero-dynamics.

            Just my opinion. Gordon.

I think it's ugly. My 'family' car (2006 Hemi Charger) is much better looking with lots of space. And - tada - on our trip last month to Niagara Falls, Ruby got 27 MPG. Not too bad at all.

I think I would like driving the Flex, but I just wish it was made in the USA. Same comment on the Edge & Lincoln MKZ.

On Saturday while getting my '05 serviced, I looked over a new Flex. The blackout treatment on the windows from the second window back and around the rear glass looked sharp. Somehow I get a chopped and channeled "Econoline" look from this car. If the folks at Ford think the Flex will be a game changer I think they're wrong. This fall Toyota is bringing to market a car called the "Venza". It is to be a cross between a Camry, an Avalon and a Highlander. It will be available as a 4 cylinder or a V6, and later a hybrid. If gasoline is still north of $4 gallon, Flex's 24mpg highway is not going to gain share for the Blue Oval. IMHO.

I agree, it's ugly and not made in America. I recently took a trip to Saginaw, Mich. to pick up a Hardtop for my Bird. The guy I bought it from runs a Repo service. He told me he has 18 trucks and could use 5 more with all the repos he's asked to pick up becuase of all the unemployment in the State due to all the automotive connected jobs sent out of the country. I try not to buy anything that isn't made in America, but it's getting harder all the time. We all have to try to keep America Strong by only buying American made products and products made with American parts and material. Leroy

Gee I kinda like it. It is DIFFERENT. and it's purpose is to replace the Explorer, Expedition, and Excertion. I think it does that quite well. We almost bouth the Edge, but the more I looked into it, the more it looked like everything else out there. We'll be keeping our 05 Escape, for quite a while it seems now. But I think the Flex may just be what FORD needs at this time, anyway. And, it did keep a Truck Plant from closing, so that is some good news, even if it is over the border.

Awesome. Now if you could just get one of those Ash Grey Soft Boots, you'd be one-up. I've been looking myself for one.

How adding a 2nd photo to your gallery, and showing off that baby.

I think it has promise--the outside could be customized all kind of ways.I'll hold out judgement for a while.

it looks nice... as far as not being made in america... its within a 30 min drive of america! that says something! i saw them all sitting outside of the ontario plant when i was up in canadaia recently... sharp cars... way to much... if they had kept the style and made it smaller... in the HHR size relm of cost they would be flying out the door. Rusty look @ an HHR.
