Yella Bird just bought a blue bird

This is my first post. Yesterday I took possession of my one true dream car. A '02 Thunderbird Blue with 2-tone interior and a white top. I may have a little problem though. It seems sort of hard to start and the battery light came on today as I was driving it. Any thoughts? Anyone? I found the car on E-Bay, but luckily it was in Carrollton and I was able to buy it there. It has 38,441 miles and has had 2 previous owners - the second one being Lee Jarmon who gave it to his granddaughter, Judy. All I can say is "It is stunningly beautiful". After a whole year of looking at pictures on the internet and trying to find one, I have to say I was taken aback at how gorgeous this color is.

Welcome, I also have a Thunderbird Blue, fortunately you bought the fastest color! (and don't let any of these red Bird owners tell you different!)
It is very likely the original battery is still in the car (Battery is in trunk) and it is time to replace it. Take it to a Ford dealership and get the same battery that is in it now, you have to replace it with a vented battery and Ford is the best place to go for it.

Thanks Borla Babe for the info on the battery and I think you are correct about this color being the fastest. I keep looking down and finding I am going 80 mph - Hope I don't kill myself!

Yes, the speed will creep up on you, my Bird is most comfortable cruising at 80, but at that speed the cops will creep up on you too. Be careful!

You got the prettiest combination with that white top, just like mine! There weren't that many sold new like that one in the DFW area - maybe about 5 or 6. Before we moved out to Rhome, one of them was only about 5 miles from us - maybe that's the one you got but I don't recall that he drove it that much to get that many miles on it.

Julie's right, it's probably time to replace your battery and Ford is the only place you're going to find the correct battery for the car. The car was too limited for other companies to make one to compete with Ford. It's needs the vented tube type because of where it's located in the car (the trunk)

Didn't I see you in the parking lot at Target last summer when I was in my blue bird and we later talked on the internet?

Yes it's me! My husband and I spotted you in your blue thunderbird in the Target parking lot and we exchanged emails. Your website influenced me to buy this car. It's just like yours, and I guess the two of us have the same taste in colors and I am just crazy in love with it! ha! I've had it 2 days and I feel like I'm 15 yrs. younger. I have to thank you again for your Porthole Authority website, it's so informative and well written. I thought in the beginning that I wanted a yellow one (Yella Bird). I wonder if I can change that? Becky, you don't know how lucky you are! I had my eye on that particular car - I saw it on Ebay and fell in love with the color. I was very torn between it and the black one I am picking up on Friday. I'm glad the blue bird got an owner who is so happy with her. Hope I'm just as happy with my choice!

Oh My Gosh! I wasn't expecting all of you wonderful people sending me these very nice messages. I Love It! Kelli, what a coincidence that you were looking at my car on E-Bay too, but I know you'll be happy with the black one. I think they look very sophisticated and chic. My 2 sons only buy black vehicles. I especially like the black with the tan interior. One word though after only having mine 2 days - watch out for that speed demon hidden inside of you. It's hard to resist!
