This past weekend I wanted to start my 2003 TBird and I found out that the battery was dead. How do you get the trunk open when this happens? Any ideas?

Re: Opening trunk when battery is dead
ooh - I'm about to make a nasty, female perspective post.
I love to rub this in to you guys - I knew how to do that when I didn't even have a car and the 'birds had only been out on the road for a month -- all because of forums like this one. --- and when that fails, read the directions.... yes, it's in the owners manual.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Oh, he has, Lou - he was out in the garage by 10am and it's 32 degrees outside! (but I forgot to mention, he bought a heater for his garage yesterday and he's playing with the new toy. )Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Tim, in your defense, the forums are a faster way to find the info than trying to find it in the owner's manual. You did the right thing asking here.

Forum to the rescue.
The battery died on my '04 a few days ago. Looked in the owner's guide under battery and couldn't find a thing. Called the local Ford dealer, all the service agents were busy. It was promised that someone would call me back. Of course no one did. I looked behind the seats (honest), and couldn't find a thing. Then I came to the forum. Problem solved. A key slot is behind the drivers seat and yes, there is info. in the owners guide ( pg.65 under locks and security). All this information due to previous posts on this very topic.
Thank you,
Wayne

If you have not locked both of your keys in the car, I would unlock the driver's door(by the latch handle) and open it old school!
