Whats cheaper and easier to replace? Brakes...or transmission...or clutch in the case of manual shift cars. I never understood that whole slow the car down with the transmission idea. Going downhill yes, normal driving...no. Why put all that wear and tear on the tranny and engine when the brakes can do the job and you can replace brakes whenever you want very cheaply. Doesn't make sense to me...unless of course you just want to hear your borlas...

I ordered it because I thought someone might want it if I wanted to sell my car later on and it was a relatively cheap option. I think I may have used it a handful of times in the four years I have owned and driven my car.

Rarely use it in the wifes 2004. I like the side shift to downshift 5th to 4th in the 02 without select shift.

For all out acceleration the select shift is slower, the shift from 1st to second comes so fast that I usually end up with the rev limiter kicking in!

You are so right, there is no way you can beat the automatic mode from 1st to second with the select shift lever. Again the shift from 2nd to 3rd is at around 58mph, so if you're trying to time 0-60mph, the automatic mode is the way to go. Launch with the brake at 2000 rpm and let the tranny do the rest.

LOL, love those 6300 rpm upshifts!

P.S. Turn off the traction control first!!!
