        Re: Tires-

I just put Pilot XGT Z4's on my 04. Very nice, quiet ride, and when I got out on the road and kicked it up to 100, ride was firm and sure footed.

I take my wheels off twice a year and clean the inside of them. Are you not to do that? I think it is in the owners manual, not sure what page.

I used to do that with my LeBaron but that got old real fast. With the brake dust these tbirds generate - they look like that with in a few weeks of driving so I just clean the inside when we're changing wheels.

When you change out the pads to ceramics that dust problem goes away and you can then keep both sides clean as a whistle.

                        Re: Tires-

As a typical consumer we generally do not have the ability to try different tires on our cars and then select the one we like best. A tire that is great on one type of car may not be so good on another. Additionally, the way a tire performs right out of the wrapping may not be the way it does in a little as 5K miles. So many of the tires available today get extremely hard and noisy and in my opinion a hard noisy tire is the last thing one needs on the platform we have.

I am usually a Michelin or Goodyear bigot but the technology in the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity should provide a quiet comfortable ride for the life of the tire and the response and handling is instantly a noticed improvement compared to the OEM tire. The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Poll Position would probably handle better than the Serenity but the compromise would be a tire that is a bit more noisy and less comfortable.

                          Re: Tires-

                          Hi all,

I haven't posted in a while, but we (the car and I) are still around. Thought I'd just relay my experience getting new tires this week.

With only 19,000 miles, the original tires were not worn, but starting to age, so I replaced them with Parelli P Zero Nero's in a 235/55 17. That is the same size, but slightly taller sidewall than the original.

They look great but the big difference is the ride. It honestly rides like a brand new car and is much smoother and quieter. Small bumps are absorbed completely and the ride is much more velvety. Cost was $135 each.

Anyway, if you want to improve the ride, I recommend he Parelli's.

                            Re: Tires-

I plan to replace my tires prior to the Nashville, Tenn. event and after all the information you guys provided and information from TIRERACK.COM I will probably purchase the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position as TIRERACK.COM has them rated as best over all the other tires. Any additional feedback appreciated. Thanks.

                            Happy Trails

The Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS pole Position will provide you maybe the best handling tire available at this time but it is going to be bit harsher ride than a premium touring all seasons tire and the wear rate my not be all that good. There are always trade offs when it comes to tires.
