  • Wire Wheels?

Who are the different makers of wire wheels that fit our birds?

I know about Dayton wires but haven't kept track of the others.

I'm also interested in the different hub caps available for the wires -- and who makes them.

                Re: Wire Wheels?

Recently I purchased a set of Zenith real wire wheels from Motorspot in California. I just had them installed, and they are simply amazing in quality, fit and appearance. I have an excellent installer up here in the Great White North (Ottawa), and inner tubes need to be installed to prevent leakage. At the same time, I bought a new set of Michelin Pilots because I really like the smooth and excellent handling ride with them. I was a bit worried about balancing, but that turned out to be a non-issue - the ride is amazing !!

Earlier in this thread, the Motorspot information is posted. I had excellent service from the folks at Motorspot (Linda and Dave), and I couldn't be happier with this set.

I thought I would post the picture of my TBird right after the installation was done, and you will see most of these wire wheels with the wide whites - I prefer the black wall tire, but the wide whitewall package is really nice too.

Looks good Mark. I also have wondered about whitewalls with the Blue, anyone out there have them, please post a photo, (I may be looking for new tires soon).
BTW if you are ever cruising through Barrie, give me a call, Bird Lovers are always welcome here

How about a close-up of one of those new wheels and tire.

                        Mark,
I like the black walls. This is the wire wheel mod for the TBird IMHO.
