  • Re: Influence of Gas Prices

Any one notice, most pumps shut off automatically @ $75.00 even if you could pump more. My Dak has a 22 gallon tank but the pumps always stop at $75.00 exactly.

Current price for premium in Ontario is average 1.45 Liter, or $5.80 a US Gal. or $6.58 a Cdn Gal. My last fill from 1/4 tank was $82.00. Good thing my golf course is only 5 miles away so I can still afford my daily walk in the park chasing that stupid white ball!

How's gas prices in B.C. and Quebec guys, I understand you are always paying more?

Got home last night from a 4500 mile round trip to George & Dot’s to get our 56 Bird. I noticed most out of state cars (for the state we were in) driving 5-10 miles an hour under speed limit, probably trying to saving gas. We found gas much cheaper in the mid west than on the coast. One place around $3.85 in Texas, but $3.95 most of the way. $4.05 in Idaho, $4.15 in Oregon, and then $4.27 back in Washington.
PS. We had bad head winds all the way home so we made lots of gas stops to see prices. Towing a trailer we couldn’t shop for cheaper gas.

Where I live the lowest price gas (91 octane) is $4.75 per gallon, would LOVE to see something with a "3" in front of it!

I purchased gas twice this week and spent $104.34

Premium in my little old Texas town is now $4.29.

I've heard that the fuel pumps stop at $75.00 if you're pre-paying with a credit card. Yesterday I took part in the Hardtop relay to Boston. I traveled on the Indiana and the Ohio toll roads about 190 miles each way. In Indiana the speed limit is 70 so I set my CC at 75 and in Ohio it's 65 so I set it at 70. I averaged 25+ miles per gallon with the A/C on. I filled up at the local station at home with 92 octane at $4.43.9 a gallon and to my surprise the gas was actually less on the tollway plazas, so I filled up about 2 miles from my exit in Portage, Indiana at $4.41 a gallon and that was 93 octane. It took 15 gallons. I'm happy with that.

It appears that this poll has run its course. It turned out to be not 50/50, but close.

Since I started the poll I'll make my comments. Yes, the price of gas has affected our travels.

I think its time to close this poll and I will verbally ask Birdwings (since I live with her)
                      to do so.
