if our Ohio gang are willing to drive it i could get it in Erie PA. about the same drive as to
youngstown OH.... i could then get it to about corning or elmira ny if that help 94mcd... at least he would be going in the right direction when heading to NJ... think about it and let me know

Everybody please read my post #106 in which I said I could take it to Jerry any time AFTER the 4th of July weekend, like that following Tuesday. I have plans for that weekend and I'd rather not drive through the Lakes area that weekend as it will be bumper to bumper, 5 mph, holiday traffic.
However, I could arrange to do it anyway if waiting would mess up the progression.

OK Karen, looks like on or about Tuesday the 8th is good.
I updated the list on post #126 to reflect Karen's and Jerry's dates.

Would you prefer to get the top from us on the 4th or the 5th? We are pretty open to either. Can't think of a better way to celebrate our nation's birthday than a 360 mile trip in the T-bird. Maybe we can work it so we eat lunch together if you guys aren't too busy.

The first hand off is completed. I met Mike (Charles / doubutsu) today down in Cedar City at the Ford dealership to transfer the hard top to his car. I took some pictures. but I need to figure out how to resize them on the new computer - so they might not get posted tonight.

We had a nice chat and he really has a fancy TBird.

One note for all of the participants - do make sure that you bring something to put on the car where the top will sit. Mike brought a roll of blue painters tape and put that down on the edge prior to putting the hard top on.

Oh and I did wuss out on lifting the top from one car to the next. Got scared that my shoulder wouldn't hold, so I asked one of the Ford salesmen to assist and he did - so that was a good place for the hand off in case anyone else might need some assistance.

I've got some chrome strip for my deck but have decided to wait and keep the mylar on until after the relay just in case it doesn't go on right or something. I know the mylar works.

Also, like Vickie says, a Ford dealership is a great place to swap the top when a relay is going on. We met 2k2tbird at the Ford dealership in Meridian,MS to make a swap. The dealership supplied their shop people to do the lifting. We told them that their dealership would get national free advertisement and also be seen in NL.

Thanks for the pics, Vickie!!! I've been following this threaed since the begining, and my buddy Jerry Best is takng part...so I'll be following to the end...
