Nick, I was really glad to do it. I got to meet Vickie and Paul, and it gave me a great story to tell at my reunion, by the way my car was a big hit at the friday night meet and greet. Again Nick, I enjoyed it and hope you enjoy the top

Well, the next leg has been successfully completed. Brad and I switched the top in Joliet, IL, and he's on his way to Indiana. We had a nice visit at a Ford dealership. This is the third time Brad and I have met. This is our second relay, and we met once in Chicago when we swapped boots. Super guy......and tall! I got to hear what a CAI and Borla combination sounds like on Brad's car......sweet! The dealership was nice enough to let us switch the top inside. We got to see the new Ford Flex, which I agree with what someone else said....it is very big/long. Very nice interior, though! We also noticed that the Cobra Mustangs or GT 500 Mustangs, or whatever they are called, no longer carry the $20,000 added dealer charge. Anyway, this dealer didn't have it tacked on. I guess it's a sign of the times.

          It's getting there, Nicky!!!

Two beautiful Thunderbirds perched at the Ford dealership at the same time probably up-scaled the place a bit I would imagine.

All the images and reports make these relays as much fun for us who can not attend as for all of you that do. Thanks again for sharing those wonderful shots. Beautiful flowers and butterfly too Jerry. Where did you spot those?

Well the top is now in beautiful Portage, Indiana, I just got home from making the switch with Brad at the new Cabela's in Hammond, Indiana. Brad's Borla's sound OK but mine have a lot more rumble for alot less money. Brad took the rubber strip off his car and put it on mine and then we put the top on. The back pins went in OK but we had some problems getting the front screws to line up. Would've been alot easier if that front inside molding was off. The next switch is set for this Saturday in Maumee, Ohio just West of Toledo off the Ohio Turnpike at Exit 59. John ( JAB02LHS ) and I are going to meet at a Smoky Bones Barbeque & Grill there just off the exit. Mapquest says it's a 195 mile run and estimate my time a three hours. I think I can beat that, setting my CC at 75 MPH and I shouldn't have to stop unless I need to use a restroom and the Toll stops. I hope I can drive back home with the top down.

It was super super super meeting up with MoBird and Ray the Herd....! Karen, you're wonderful and it was extremely enjoyable lunching and talking with you. Must do it again!!!! Our cars probably took the people at Machen?s Ford by surprise,... but it was good PR and training for them. Hopefully everything else this week will work out for you.
Ray,... what can I say. This is exactly how Martin and Lewis started out, isn't it???? Your Great,... and the Bloominton Beer Nuts, Cd's and Illinois paraphenalia are much appreciated..... The Cd's I'll listen to later tonight, but I know they're already special. Thought I'd include some pic's showing the various Birds and the "turning pale pink top, (I dunno what happened)"

I met with John (JAB02LHS ) and his lovely Wife at Smokey Bones in Maumee, Ohio this afternoon. After we introduced ourselves we got the top off my car and on his, then it was time for lunch. We had a great lunch and alot of interesting conversation. Besides both of us being T-Bird Nuts we're also both Viet Nam Veterans. John wouldn't let me pay for my lunch, so John " I owe you one. " Leroy
