When we did the exchange at Mercer, John and I had no problems getting the top to fit. Maybe the top likes sitting on Torch Red cars. Right Paul Thomas?

John DePinto and I made the exchange today at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. John treated my son, Brian, & I to lunch at Cracker Barrel following the top exchange. We found through discussions at lunch that we had a lot in common when it came to NASCAR racing. Here are some pictures of the exchange. We hope the other exchanges at the Thunderbird Show in Syosset, NY, went well. Although, after John put that white top on his Evening Black Thunderbird he liked it so much, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the top never made it to Nick. (Just kidding John! Thanks again for the lunch.)

      Here are some photos.

Wow - I can't believe that Nick's top is finally close to home. This has been one heck of a trip to watch the progress from Bird to Bird. No one that is not a true thunderbird owner/lover would ever believe this relay happened from Utah to Mass.

Nick - if you get the top today, no sleeping - you have to post!

Pat, it was a pleasure meeting you and your son Brian. Your car was sharp and also looked fantastic with the white top. Thanks very much for meeting a little earlier this morning.

I made good time from PA through New Jersey but ran into heavy traffic from the George Washington Bridge to Long Island. Unfortunately I did not make it in time to the show at Syossett but met up with everyone at a park nearby a little after 5pm. I appreciate everyone waiting for me and for the hospitality.

Nick, thanks for dinner and I hope you enjoy your new hardtop. I could not believe how good it looked on the medium steel blue. A perfect match!

Here are a few photos from the NY exchange. Regards, John.

Wow. That top got off to a slow start but sure made some progress this month. Looks great on Nicky's Ice Blue car.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I really love the look of the white top on a black Thunderbird. I was looking at Dot's Porthole Authority web site and I see that for 2003 and 2004, a black Thunderbird could be had with a partial white interior. I haven't personally seen one but I bet that's a pretty striking combination with either a white or black hardtop.

                  John,
If that is Nick in front of the Black TBird, he looks ready and able to remove it all by himself, as I am sure the adrenilin is pumping!!
Good luck with your new top Nick.
I am sure it will look awesome on Icetea. You must post pictures, when you can with it on.

I think you are right, Pat. We really didn't have any trouble getting it on my car from Mike's. Nor was it that big of a deal putting it on Ed's car despite the video commentary. I've been part of two relays and have never had much of a problem with the tops.

DavidA said that he has had to adjust tops to fit his car in just about every case. Perhaps it is the particular cars as much as it is the tops.

I can't tell ya how bummed I am that I had to leave and catch a ferry. Nicky, I'm sure that you will remember and cherish this for the rest of your life! Congratulations buddy – can’t wait to see it in person

Nicky, the white top looks fantastic on your ICE TEA Bird. I can't wait to see it at Skip's on Saturday.

I will have to put that combo on my 1:43 project list for sure.

I honestly must say that the white top looked great on every car in the relay and the pictures where fantastic. But the very best look was the last one on Nick's Beautiful Ice Blue.....Congratulations old friend and I will be looking forward to seeing it this weekend at Skip's.....
