I was looking over the 2006 Dealers' Order Guide and noticed that, consistent with all other years, there were plans to have a 2006 Limited Edition Model. Does anyone know if Ford had determined the specifics on what this model would have been and how many were to be produced?

Re: The 2006 that wasn't
Chuck, Jim Youngs (Thunderbird Project Manager aka "retiredfordguy")showed us the color samples for the 06 at Thunder Fever and he talked about the special edition color - it would have been similar but much darker than the merlot, called "Dark Cherry" and would have been an edition of 2000. At one time, before the supercharged model program was canceled, that special edition would have had the supercharger.
I do not recall if he mentioned the interior color for the car though.Last edited by 5bird7; May 14, 2008, 09:42 AM.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

in addition to what Gene just posted, you'll need to scroll down past my "editorial" to find the sample colors.
Elle, you must have been reading my site or visiting TBN at the time those colors were announced.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Re: The 2006 that wasn't
Thanks, Dot.
I agree with Vickie and Elle, I think the dark blue with the sand interior would have been a beautiful car. I read that the Lime Sorbet was more of a yellow, but it's still hard to picture that with Medium Steel Blue Interior.

A navy metallic with sand would have been my pick ... But probably a tie with Merlot/Sand ... My all time production favorite.sigpicSoaring with My Raven Under Carolina Blue Skies ...

Re: The 2006 that wasn't
Where did I read that there would be a pink 'Bird in the '06 line-up & it would be a Marilyn Monroe Commemorative Edition? This was considered a strange pairing because MM (1926-1962) & the Thunderbird (1955-1997) were never even remotely associated during her lifetime.
