I sure would have loved to see the Black Cherry or Dark Blue Pearl.

Where did I read that there would be a pink 'Bird in the '06 line-up & it would be a Marilyn Monroe Commemorative Edition? This was considered a strange pairing because MM (1926-1962) & the Thunderbird (1955-1997) were never even remotely associated during her lifetime.
Not sure where you read about a pink 'bird for 06 and Jim Youngs confirmed that no pink bird was considered the designers. They did however plan an MM edition and the cashmere is the end result. The first I heardof an MM edition was back in 02 or 03 from someone who had a relative working in the design dept. but there was no indication about when it would appear.
Actually, Marilyn was tied with tbirds for the first years of the Thunderbird but never in her name, but thru her male friends at that time. There are pictures of her in a black 56 and with a light colored 55.

I think I still have some of the Marilyn Monroe decals I had custom made if someone wants them.

Just came across an auction of Marilyn Monroe items in 2005 - Lot #162 included papers between lawyers involving the transfer of ownership of a 1956 Ford Thunderbird owned by MM to a John Strasberg and Paula Strasberg in 1962. So there was evidence that she had owned a 56 Thunderbird.
You might also be interested in this webpage with a synopsis of her Thunderbird ownership though the pictures shown are of a 1956 Thunderbird, not a 55. From his description, the car was originally a Sunset Coral - a very rare color on the 56.
