Re: New To birds, what is the difference

Billy, your MSG (as we refer to it here) is a premium model, you could say it's better than the deluxe version as it has the heated seats and chrome wheels. Deluxes did not come with either.

Your color is described on the 2003 page on my website.

      Billy,

Congrats on your TBird purchase and welcome to TBN (the humor here is contagious). You may have the2nd hottest Retro Bird made, let ME fill you in on a little something about this site, most of the people here are really full of themselves and their Birds, not like myself, Vickie aka Dizzbe, Jim Young and all us Merlot & sand owners, we know we have the hottest Birds
Again welcome to TBN (and the humor) the SPECIAL Bird was made in 04.

By the way there is no dumb questions here just well, you fill in the rest
      ( I love this site).

...and as a side note, The MSG is the best color of all and easily surpasses that Monterey Moonpie Mist. And if by chance it has the Saddle interior it is even more superb.

I do not like my PCR being refered to as Monterey Moonpie mist. I hapen to think the PCR is the prettyest Bird.
The PCR package is; Ash convertable top with dark ash soft boot, Ash Hard Top. 17 micro-machined 16 sokew/Monterey Mist center caps. Two tone Ash interior, two tone Leather Seats W/Preferred Sude Insers, Cream Colored Gauges, unique interioe appliques and shift bezel, and the Limited-Edition Badge in glove box. Plus all the Premium goodies, all options were standard .

Merlot is quite nice, but VMG is the way to go, some like it right away for others an acquired taste like a fine single malt. LOL

I bought the PCR that is featured on Dot's web site. I turned 4,000 miles this morning on the PCR. As stated previously, it came fully loaded with no options available. I might say the wheels are hard to keep clean with all the spokes and the soft top being the light ash color is harder then black tops to keep clean and without marks on it.
I really like the seats with the swede inserts however, you have to be careful not to spill food on the inserts when you are setting at a drive-in reliving the time when you were in high school.
Ford only made 992 of the 1,000 PCR planned.
You may also want to consider the 2005 50th anniversery model that also came with all options standard with special colors.

Mike, since you first found the numbers on the PCR's, it's been updated. Ford did make all 1000 as there are 1000 vin #s for them.

David, Perhaps that amusing color comment pre-dates you... so the humor is lost on a newer person. We all think whatever we have is the best color and that's why we own it. And that's what makes it all so fun and interesting on this site.

You are right all the T-Birds are beautiful. It is good to go to event's and talk to all the different owners. My car was 4 years old May 28 and I took it to get it serviced today and it has 29,500 miles on it most of them going to T-bird events or Car shows. It was not drove from Thanksgiving week-end to the midle of May, almost 6 month's. But will drive and enjoy it in the warm weather, It spends most of its time in the garage but is not a garage queen. These cars were made to be enjoyed and we enjoy ours. We leave for N.H. the 12 of June and we will drive the car about 2000 miles.
