    Re: Extended warranty offer

Was this notice a Recall? I have an 04 and I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. I'm not the original owner, I bought the car used and have extended the warranty through my Ford dealer. I wonder if I should check with the dealer to see if my car falls under any recall I haven't been notified of?

Read the COPS threads. A letter has gone out to owners of the covered Birds telling us of the extended coverage which went into effect in late May.

I got this same letter from Ford yesterday. I have had none of these problems with my 2005 Thunderbird so far. It is nice to know that I will be covered till 2010 if I do.

Leroy, your dealer should be able to pull up the OASIS report for your car - the letter says 2nd or later owners are covered on their cops, too.

Yesterday I received an offer from "FORD Notification, Dealer Services" out of St Louis, MO to extend my Thunderbird for "six additional years or 140,000 miles". Letterhead also has a picture of a RetroBird on the top right.

Anyone else get one of these letters?
NO FAIR! Mine is only good for 100K miles or 10 years from warranty start date which obviously I'll hit the 100K miles before the 10 years passes. And my letter head just shows Ford! LOL You lucked out! But yeah, I thought this was pretty awesome! Ford is really changing their policies because when I went to get an oil change last, they've reduced their labor fee by $20. Typically I pay $102 for the works oil change package and this time it was only $80 I was like WOAH! WHAT HAPPENED?! LOL. They said it was because of competition. Well, SWEET! :)
