    Re: Front license plate holder

    Hi Dot,

I had a new front lic. plate bracket and its number was on the package. Unfortunately, when I install the bracket a couple of weeks ago I discarded the package. I do have the diagram for installation and it has some numbers on it. I'm not sure if they are the part numbers or not but maybe they will help.

    17A385 Brkt- Frt Plt Mtng
    N803043-S Rivet (2 reqd)
    N804376-S55 Screw (2 reqd)

If I read this correctly, this is a Mustang part #. I think the rivets and screws come with the bracket as a part of it.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Dot The numbers on the plate bracket from Tweetie 2 are
        2942
        1W63-17B392-AB
        C186E
These numbers are molded into the plastic.

I use my brackets to show off the personalized plates at car shows. Just put the plate on the bracket upside down and set it in front of the bird on the ground. looks good.

          Dot,
Just checked 007's plate bracket and the same #'s are embossed on the inside of it.

I bet the Mtng stands for 'mounting" instead of Mustang.

Dot, I don't know the number and I don't want to know the number. I am not mounting my Texas front plate. I will put it in the car, in between seat and console for emergency. If corvettes can get away w/o one, so can I. Hope Nancy is driving first tiem we get pulled over. Ha Ha!

Got word from Alison that the # for ordering one is 1W6Z17A385AA

hope we don't all get confused by the different #s.

Ditto for Moondoggie - to quote my friend in the Norfolk Police Dept..."I know, I know...Corvettes & Thunderbirds - we look the other way."

Both of my cars had them on when I bought them so I'm not about to remove them and have 2 holes. But if a car didn't have it on, I certainly wouldn't drill holes to put it on.
