  • Dash Kits

My Ford dealer in SW FL has a few dash kits they want to get rid of at a good price $200.+ tax. They have 3 different styles, one rosewood like, another burled dark walnut type and a lighter golden color wood style. Email me if anyone is interested.

    Gary,

Do you know if these are the real wood kits or the plastic wood-like kits?

Just called and they say they are real wood...I would have guess plastic because of the perfect gloss finish.

        Re: Dash Kits

Decided against the dash kit and went to the Dealer to tell him. Told him I could do better online and that I really didn't want to change things anyway. Well, I now own a dash kit because he lowered the price from $200. to $100. and I couldn't pass up a deal like that whether I use it or not.

Think I might just do the armrests and console top around the shifter as a light accent. I'll post pictures when and if I do it.

could you just put up some shots od the pieces, themself. They useually come in a flat pack kinda lightly stuck to a backing sheet. If I could get him to reduce the price a little, I would be 1nterested in one, if I think it is what I'm trying to explain.
Oh, and no shipping either, just go for a short, well slightly short, down the coast to get it.
          Which one did you take?

            Re: Dash Kits

I'd be happy to post some shots but I left the kit in my trunk and my car is in the shop again probably through the weekend. I bought the lighter color platium burl but the sheet I got does not have any name of the color or wood type on it. I will post photos as soon as I get it back. If you like call Ken Giunta at 274-2400 ext. 4417 (Galloway Ford in Fort Myers, FL.) and see if he'll extend my offer to you. Again the other types he had were a dark rosewood straight grained type and a very dark (almost black) burled walnut type....13 piece set. He said it's wood but I'm not sure he really knows for sure.

What type of color or wood are you looking for?

Wouldn't expect the sam discount you got. Your a frequent customer to them.

As for colour. not sure. Would prefer something with a Black/Grey burl effect. But would consider the golden colored one as an option (at the savings). I put the Dark Burlwood in both my original Black 02, and in my 04 Merlot. With this one havingthe silver/grey accent in the interior, I need to be more selective.

                Dave,

Tell me you did not put one of these kits in the NM. Did you have another 02 black?

                  Re: Dash Kits

I installed a dark walnut burlwood in my red 02. I love the new look and don't know why I didn't do it a long time ago. The instalation was easy. E-bay has them often for $139 + S/H.

                    Re: Dash Kits

I've loved the look of the dash kits, even bought a couple (one for '02 and one for the '05), but I've never installed them for several reasons, not the least of which is what should happen if I need to replace the CD player...I couldn't get the dash kit removed and may find it almost impossible to replace with exact same hue.

We put one in our '05 Medium Steel Blue (dark burlwood) and love it

I have an unused dash kit that I will trade for a chrome hood scoop.

It is burled walnut wood with a gloss finish. Brand new in the box.

                              Re: Dash Kits

Or my Mamma's and the Papa's, or my CCR, or others, yep, still got 'em.

Now back to dash kits for a sec. Yes, Claude I had another 02. We were part of the "Lucky Bunch" who played the manage the wait game. Oh, and the Burlwood lookd darn good in her too, I might add. The we advanced to our 04 Merlot. And with the Sand package, the Burlwood also accented that one very well also.

Now as for my new-to-me NM. Yes I am going to "continue" to mod her. She is MINE, and I waited a long time to be able to afford to enjoy again another Bird. I got a double bonus. First, I got my first love back; Evening Black, and2nd, it just happened to be a NM Edition. Now don't go getting all wussy here, but it just celebrated her SEVENTH Birthday, Being born on 6/15/01. I am enjoying this Bird to the fullest, but you know what, It's JUST another Black T-Bird. E_GAD's, did he just say that. YEP, and a Seven year old one at that, Sooo, I am personalizing her, as I do ALL my cars. I make them MINE. She's already sporting some new chrome wear's, and more are on the way. Dis[ite the nicely accented two-tone interior, it still has FORD Plastic all over her interior. I intend on changing that too. And YES she will get a Dash Kit. But it will be special and not run of the mill, because I am not a crowd follower nor pleaser. When I find the right one, I willl know it, and she'll be adorned with it. OMG he's destroying a NM. Not at all. I'm making her so that I will KEEP her beyond MY DAYS. Then whomever inherits her will have a part of me besides just my car. Resale value will tank? WHO CARE'S!! I have many toy's that will head to the chopping block, should a financial burden find us again.
But I can tell you this. She will still be as classy as ever, and nothing willl deter from her appearance nor performance. Some purist's even snubbed my Merlot. Eat Crow, I just don't care, what anyone else thinks. I'm enjoying this ride till the day I die.
I have to take a break now though, but I had to respond to your post Claude. You need to lighten up a tad, enjoy your car the way you would ant it to be. I just don't sit back and bs about what could be, when I can do what I want to do, while I'm able to.
By the way, my Turbo charger is here for my GT, and my 64 is now ready for final paint. My lift has been installed, and the garage extention is near completion. I made a deposit with RegalBirds for a Kit 56, and hope to be able to take delivery when the extension is finally all wired, and I'll be ready to go. I'm only retired, not dead yet. And yes I srtill play with toys.
