Traction Control light on dash is on

Just came on yesterday.....dry sunny day and it is staying on.
I looked it up in the manual and it just states the traction control is engaged. I don't see a big emergency but was wondering if there is any new information about it.

Hi there,

I'm sat at my desk at work right now so I don't have the handbook to look at. Is the traction control on these cars switchable on or off or is it always on.

I ask this because if there is an on/off switch, sometimes there is kind of a backward effect to what you might expect. It may be that when the traction control is in the on mode - no light. When this is overidden and cancelled, then the light comes on to remind you it is switched off.

Just a thought, that's kind of how it is on our Infiniti.

The traction control light on our Bird came on when the car was under warrenty and the Dealer replaced a speed sensor on one of the wheels.

Traction control switch is on lower left (near the hood release) on my 02. Don't recall if light was on when tranction was turned off

Light is on signaling Traction Control is off.

The traction control should recycle itself once the key is turned off. If it come on again the next time you start the car, then it is probably a speed sensor that needs attention.

I had the same problem it was a wheel sensor.The ABS light went on also with it.

Just as Ed said.....ABS Light was on with it and it was a left rear wheel sensor. Dealer replaced under extended warranty.
