  • Recent Influx of New Members

It is great to have so many new members joining the nest! For many of you, someone else's loss has been your gain, others are just now finding us after owning their car since new. Whichever the case may be, it is great to see excited new folks finding their way to TBN.

As a member that has been around since the beginning, let me tell you how to get the most out of TBN. First, use the search function to learn just about everything there is to know about your car and what can be done to it to personalize it, maximize its performance, maintain it, detail it , etc. Then jump right in and post to your little hearts desire. Tell us about your experience and how you became an owner. Ask questions if you don't understand something you read in the forums. Get to know folks - most of us are pretty nice and even when we disagree it is a family squabble more than a war.

BUT, the #1 thing you can do to maximize your TBN experience is attend an event with other TBN members. Events range from local group gatherings for a day to full blown multi-day events that rival anything that you have ever been to with car clubs. Once you go, you will be hooked and then you'll be trying to figure out how to talk the boss into letting you have more time off to go to another. The best way to get the most enjoyment from an event is to join in a caravan to the event - its all part of the fun, fun, fun.

After you have been to an event or two and see how others work to show the membership what their hometown is like, consider organizing an event in your part of the world. If you build it, we will come! We love to learn more about this beautiful country of ours and it is best to learn about it from folks that are proud of where they live.

Anyway, welcome one and all to a new chapter in your life as a Thunderbird owner - you are going to love it!

Thanks Paul, as a new Thunderbird owner I am thrilled to have found this community. Already I have received so much help and I have only been a member for a few days. Thank you to everyone for the welcome wishes and all the assistance with my stereo problems. I hope to be able to attend the event in Las Vegas this year.

        God Bless our new members!

As our cars went out of production some 3 years ago (gasp!), we are now entering the phase of new owners, turnovers etc., as our cars become modern classics.

As new owners discover these great cars, we should continue to see more new faces around here.

Re: Recent Influx of New Members

              Hi there,

Speaking as a relatively new member,(we bought our black 2003 just last December), I can only say what a friendly and helpful experience this has been. There is free advice, quite a lot of funnies and once in a while things get a little bitchy but that's kind of funny as well after a while. You will soon realize that some of the owners have very strong opinions when their Thunderbirds are involved.

So far we have been on two Thunderbird meets where we met some of the nicest folks ever.

We are sorry to be missing the big upcoming Savannah meet but in this case we already had our trip to Britain and France arranged to visit my parents. We will be at the next one though.

All the best and have a great 4 July everyone.

Re: Recent Influx of New Members

I second Pauls comments, I met Paul at the Desert Thunder Meet in Las Vegas 2003 (Kim I know time flies when your having fun). TBN is the best website for the new classic TBirds. I have met many great owners here and make new friends at every meet. TBN also gives you access to a lot of information, if fact we seem to know more than most Ford service departments and we don't charge over $100.00 an hour to get a SWAG guess from them. Welcome to all of the new members.

Yep, Dave it has been awhile! Looking forward to see you and several other folks we met at Desert Thunder so long ago. Where did those years go?

I'm sure glad Lon, Gene and crew stepped up to put on Desert Thunder II. We've been wishing for an encore for quite awhile.

If you are new to the site and have any opportunity at all to get to Savannah next week, Nashville in August and/or Las Vegas in October - JUST DO IT.
