  • Totally Red Interior

If any of you have the thunderbird playing cards there is a shot of a thunderbird with a FULL FULL total red interior (red seats, red dash, etc.)
    Was this car every produced?

My 02 was a full red accent and my 03 is a partial, and I really miss the look and am still considering getting the extra pieces dyed...has anyone ever thought about dying the entire interior (like in the playing card)?

    Re: Totally Red Interior

It was a concept car only - one of a kind in black. Now resides in a museum of sorts in Florida.
I've got photos of it on my website:

Brad, Don't think so unless someone made some major mods to theirs.

        Re: Totally Red Interior

I would love to have been able to order a 2005 red with all red/white interior like what was available on the 1956 TBIRD. I don't understand why FORD had to put black interior on all their 2005 TBIRDS.

        Happy Trails

There is nothing conservative about the Torch Red Thunderbird.

                Re: Totally Red Interior

I would have bought the black with the solid red interior in a New York minute. It was my favorite of the concept cars.

The manufacturers only offer a couple of interior colors to decrease their costs. It is surprizing that the T-birds had as many options as they did. That is one place that the bean counters did not end up with complete control. They saved their money by using the LS dash.

Brad, I had the pleated part of my door panels and center of the head rest dyed red and really like how it looks. The hard part is finding a pro who will take their time to do a good job. Prepping is everything

I can attest to how great it looks! I particularly like the door panels - really sharp.

That's the very reason I bought my Cashmere, I didn't want a black interior in South Florida. Way to hot, my '67 Mustang convertible has a black interior.

Our first two retro birds had all black interiors. Our F-150 is solid black inside and out. I guess you might say we like black interiors.

The '05 Cashmere is a fine looking car but the interior makes it outstanding

                              Re: Totally Red Interior

Charles, how is the stuff you had dyed wearing? My only experience is with a Mercedes I used to have that I dyed the seats myself and they looked great for a few months.

My 2002 with the full accent after about 50k miles the red armrest started having some "black" dirt I guess in it (or the black showing) show I'm a little gun shy, but I'd really like some more red in the interior.

Dot, thanks for the pics...the picture on the playing card looked ALOT better than that...
