Did the '02 thru '05 T-Bird come with a valet key? Both of us are having a senior moment and don't remember. If we did get one, we don't know where it is.

Re: Valet Key
Frits,
Now for the serious answer. Before you let the valet park your car, you use your master car key to lock the trunk button on the driver's side door. Then you give the valet the valet key to park your car. The only thing the valet can now do is drive your car. The valet key will not open the trunk in case you leave a lot of stuff in it.

Re: Valet Key
Another good reason to keep it handy. When my girlfriend was heldup and car jacked the bum (would like to use another term) took her car keys, money, cell ph. when leaving and told her he would be back in 10min. and give the keys back??? When he got 50ft. away she had her valet key started the car and left. The creep was never caught didn't hurt her (the main thing) but it cost $900 to have the car rekeyed .Ins. paid for new keys.sigpic

Re: Valet Key
Thanks Charlie. We do not know much services like that in NL, that's why we are not familiar with the term valet either.
I don't think I would have someone else park my car for me.Sometimes Birds travel far...

Re: Valet Key
Charlie - I'm guessing the reason you brought this up is because of Savannah, but remember Margaret already checked about the parking here:http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...2&postcount=92

Be brave. Be very very brave.
I've used valet service with the Tbird several times. Each time the valet recognized the beauty and value of the car and treated her very gently. Most valet areas have a "Special" car area.
Although the very first time I turned those keys over it was a traumatic experience.R.
