  • Carolinas Chapter?

I was thinking on the way home from Savannah now that we have a lot more members from North and South Carolina and wondered if we have enough members interested to sustain a Carolinas TBN Chapter.

Is there any interest in pursuing this from you NC / SC owners?

If so please post and lets hash it out. I would be willing to volunteer to be the point person if we decided to move forward.

I would be interested since I also reside in Raleigh. It would benefit the local Carolina T-Bird owners knowing there is local knowledge and ownership experience along with possibly doing local meets. Might be another fun way to enjoy our Birds and help spread the word about these unique automobiles! It's is worth exploring.

My PCR is # 718 and it has 31000 miles. We have put the miles on going to T-Bird events. We bought the car to drive and enjoy. We have been to N.H. twice, to Tulsa Ok.,Memphis and to Nasville twice, Daytona, Savannah, Highlands N.C. AND Cruiseing the Parkway.

                  Joe,

If you do something, keep me informed please. While not in North Carolina, I did live in Charlotte for a year and a half and being so close, we would be able to do some of the events you might plan. Looking forward to it.

                      Joe,

Follow the lead of the New England TBN members and have informal get togethers. No officers, rules, or membership fees. Same with other areas of the country. Look how they have used the TBN grille badge to identify themselves, very original.

Here in Las Vegas, we've been having monthly dinner meetings and sometimes an occassional cruise somewhere. I first got involved in 2006 but have only really had a chance to get more active this year in 2008 due to prior committments I had with my job. However, it's definitely made the Thunderbird ownership experience more enjoyable.

                              Re: Carolinas Chapter?

Shortly after buying my '05 in August of 2006, I attended a car show in No. Myrtle Beach at Barefoot Landing. There were (2) of our TBN members there. In 2007 there were also (2) TBN cars that were entered. If a Carolina's group wanted a great common location for a meet, No. Myrtle Beach is almost a neutral location as it sits on the border between North and South Carolina and also has some potential members that live just a few miles away, (e.g. Calabash, NC). It's a 2 1/2 hour drive for me but I think most folks usually find a lot to do "at the beach".
