  • cold air intake & warranty

I just installed a cold air intake. I noticed the paperwork stated it could affect the warranty. Has anyone had Ford void the warranty after installing a cold air intake?

Blake, I have had my 02 in for warranty work 3 times since I installed
my CAI. Not a problem. In fact the service manager told me how good
    it looked!!

    See you at the Track!

Blake, many members have installed the CAI. I checked with Ford to see if the CAI installation could/would void out my warranty and was told no. No problem at all, just enjoy!

Same with me, dealer loved the look and mentioned nothing about warranty being voided...........

          Blake:

If the CAI is just replacing the factory intake and is in the same area of the car where the factory intake was installed there will be no problem.

Intakes that have a long travel and scoop air from under the front bumper up to the engine sometimes have the risk of getting water into the system (unless they incorporate a water filter) and that poses great risks to the engine and thus to the factory warranty.

At least this is how the service manager at my Ford dealer explained it to me when he looked over my K & N installation and blessed it.
