I had reason to remove my stock air cleaner assembly last night to replace the air filter element and noticed that the cold air is drawn in through two two tubes that T in to the side of the air cleaner assembly. Upon further investigation, I noticed that this tube component can be removed to expose a much larger opening in the air cleaner assembly - air is still required to pass through the air filter element. With all the talk about more cold air equating to improved performance, I reinstalled the air cleaner assembly without the tube component. The car seemed to be a bit more responseive; however, it could be a misconception on my part. Do you think this will in any way harm the enginge or hinder performance in the long run? Thanks!
