To keep my top clean from dust and foreign materials i use a lint poller, works great , however how do u clean it otherwise like washing and getting it lint free? any suggestions, Ray

    Re: soft tops

I take CARTOY to a hand held car wash. Soap and rinse well. Let the soft top dry, then use a lint roller as you do. My problem is cat hair. I don't have a cat, but the neighborhood cats LOVE my soft top. Several years ago I ordered a "Scat Cat" pad online. Battery powered light shock when a paw touches it...I just can't bring myself to use it The little darlings also leave paw tracks down my windshield, and across the hood

Some members vacuum the soft top prior to washing it. I never have.

      Re: soft tops

We have a central vacuum in our house with its motor and canister in the garage. It has a place to "plug" in the vacuum hose there, and it is great for cleaning the top (besides the rugs, etc.). I use a 6-in wide stiff brush for the top and a smaller brush for the rugs. A soft brush is good for the hard vinyl or leather surfaces.

        Sally,
Plug the thing and and your cat hair problems are over.

I just wash the car and let the top dry. That's pretty much it.

When I have a lot of energy I'll get out the little hand held Dirt Devil and after vacuuming I'll use a lint brush.

              Re: soft tops

The cat hair isn't the problem... it's CLAWS are! On our previous convertible, the neighbor's cat did its claw stretching exercises on our top instead of using the nearest tree trunk, and it leaked like crazy afterwards.

Do all you can to get it away from the car before you suffer the same fate.
