I have my CJ7 Jeep (it's a jeep thing) and a Ride a Harley (always flash the Peace sign).

Now with the Bird...I Love it!! It shouldn't be a bother trying to be Nice.

Gene, it must be a Jersey thing. The cell in the PD I retired from had a sign on the door "Attitude Adjustment Suite". Tony, Vincent "The Chin" Gigante used to live two towns over. Back in the 70's he paid off the whole town's PD. they all got fired. Re: the flipping off, my grandmother used to say "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Just because you put someone in a nice car, it doesn't automatically make him a nice person.

That's the old "Jersey salute".

Tony, living just 5 miles from the GWB, all my life, 59 years, have been to many of the good Italian places down there and have hungout in NYC in my younger years (part of the original bridge and tunnel crowd, I guess. Also love Ferrara's for Pastry. My son lives in NYC so we still get into the city a lot.

You have to remember that people that haven't driven a classic car in the past may not be used to waving or giving someone the thumbs up...I've recently given people the thumbs up in nice older cars and they just looked at me funny...if you flashed your headlights at me and you've got those annoying super-bright blinding xenon bulbs or your lights aren't adjusted properly, and then you waved your hand at me, (me thinking that you fliiped me off) I just might flip you the bird too...


You would think that flipping the bird to someone in a bird would be standard protocoll.


Just remember, never judge anyone until after you walk a mile in his shoes...that way he will be a mile away, barefoot, and very unliklely to catch up to you!

Tony, you mean like the The Coasters, the Dells, Dion & the Belmonts, The Duprees, the Crests, the Skyliners, you mean like that kind of music. I don't think i have ever got in the Bird and have not listened to Doo Wop, although not exclusively, A LOT. I will have to check out the Lead East show in Parsippany, not that far from me. That does sound cool. I was with my wife down in Barnegat Light last weekend, four Lead Sleds parked next to each other, actually went home, got on Ebay, checked out '49, '50 Mercs.

Here in Newfoundland the is a very limited amout of T-birds. There are only seven 2002 models and only two of them are red. I came across the other red one this weekend and as soon as he saw me comming up behind him he pulled in and waved me over to talk. He had the basic Canadian edition and after looking through my car with amazment he said he was going home to order a long list of parts to upgrade his(he only had his a month and was unawear that you could get colour matched interior, factory upgraded rims, etc.). Just about everyone here who has a T-bird knows everyone else that has a T-bird. The best part is they're all really nice and always wave to the other T-birds.

I would just like to see another Retro Bird to wave to.... it's kind of nice to have a car which is very rare in the area, because at cruise nights and car shows I get tons of questions and stares (TBird blue - what can I say). Thanks goodness for this forum !!!

I just was on that website, AMAZING !!, Thanks Tony and Gene. We may be down the shore that weekend, but if not will definatly try to make it for part of the day and night on one of those days. Again AMAZING, had no idea it was there and so close to my house. Thanks again.
