In simple terms.....there are two kinds of BIRD owners....
those who do and those who don't!
and the don't's out number the do's.

      Oh, no.........not a "wave thread".........say it isn't so.

I wave too after YEARS of Corvette ownership it's easy to remember to acknowledge the car coming toward me. Unfortunately these threads are not unusual. The Corvette Forum has one like this every other day it seems.

Sadly, if there is one thing I've learned it's this. As much as we want to believe all owners of the cars we like are as friendly as we are it's like a cold slap in the face when we are forced to acknowledge the idea that sometimes "Jerks" drive the same kind of cars we do.

Looks like your wife just found one of 'em too......and he drives a T-Bird.

        Re: Flipped Off by 007

I ride a Harley... and the golden rule is... bikers (every biker, American, Japanes, Italian, or Russian made bikes) always wave to other bikers. Only problem here in Northern Virginia (NoVA) is that there are thousands of bikes on the road every day, particularly weekends. After a few years of waving till my arms fell off, I just sorta wanted to be left alone and to "ride my ride". Many of my friends are the same way. We are very friendly, but sometimes we are distracted looking at other things, busy with the buttons, or just plain too tired of waving to wave. Generally, I just don't wave back much anymore, it messes with my ride.

Now having said that, T-birds are uncommon enough that a friendly wave to each other isn't that big of a hassle. Another thought is, it seems like people who own the same kind of car expect some sort of special recognition from each other. VW Beetle owners, Corvette owners, Neon owners, Saturn Sky owners, etc... all wave at each other. Unless you know that this is a custom, you would wonder why anyone would wave at you driving a car.

Flipping a bird is a sign of anger and dissrespect, not cool. I've never done that and would never do that.
If somone doesn't wave back, then just keep your hurt feelings in check and forget about it. If someone wanted to talk about my car, I'm all about that.

I just drop my left arm now when I ride. Much easier.
