  • ANOTHER BIRD WRECKED

Here's some pic's of my daughters 02 Bird. She had a wreck yesterday. Hit a Lincoln SUV. No one hurt. Don't know how much damage $$$ yet. The appraiser should look at it tomorrow. There's been a rash of accidents with these Bird's lately.

Looks like about the same amout of damage as The Pen Maker's. It will be interesting to see if the the repair bills are similer. Did the air bags deploy?

            Leroy,

No the air bags did not deploy. Do you recall the $ amount of damage on Pen Makers Bird?

Sandman, The Pen Maker's thread is 12 down from yours, ( I'll Be Birdless for awhile ). His bags didn't deploy either? What's it take to set them off? Looks like a pretty good hit buy the damage. My Wife hit a Deer several years ago with a new SUV I had bought her. Both air bags deployed. The estimate for the damage was $8000.00 but by the time the job was done the bill was $11,000.00. I dumped it as soon as I got it back and got her a new one becuase I didn't trust the rebuilt air bag system.

Glad your daughter is okay. I can't believe the airbags didn't deploy with that amount of damage.

Ouch, poor baby! Glad your girl is okay!

It's funny how the front of the car kind of looks like a face and the pictures make it look like it's in pain from being hit...

One of the workers at the body shop where I took my bird said you have to have a directly square impact before most air bags will deploy or be going over 30 mph and hitting a stopped object.

Take it from one who has been through it. Airbag deployment is not fun...but that safety feature saved my face from serious injury.

Glad to hear she was not injured in her accident.

Amen to the non-airbag deployment. A friend's daughter was holding a soft drink cup when her car was involved in an accident. The air-bag broke her arm because her hand was in front of the bag when it deployed.

Ron, looking at the car and your daughter do you think the air bags sould have deployed? And regard to the thread above how many of us driving down the highway seen people with their feet on the dash???? Do you know whats going to happen to their legs and feet if they can't get them off in time???
