I can't actually see anything on the windshield but there is a button on the heater controls for the wiper heaters on the windshield. When it's cold, this button will sometimes turn itself on for awhile.

Goldi was "fixed" Saturday morning...sort of. I can still see it, and they said that was the best they could do. I told the girl that if it spreads, I will need to replace with OEM, and her remark was, "we'll replace it with whatever we can get.Your car isn't anything special." I said, "No, you won't. I have my standards", and I walked out. I do not recommend "Glass Masters". Rude, arrogant, and no respect for customers. If it spreads, I have another source, and will replace appropriately. Wish I had known about the source before I went to Glass Masters. Too soon old, too late smart. At least I'm only out $50.

I'm thinking about retiring Goldi. Every time I drive her, something happens. My Expedition has gotten a lot of use in the last couple days. And I actually enjoyed it!

Our '02 took a good-sized rock on the upper-driver's side two weeks after we got it. Figured we'd try the patch & fill first and almost 6 years later it still looks the same -- visible but no additional cracking. It's worth a try!

If Ford comes out with a Thunderbird in the future, I hope it goes back to being a nice reasonably priced 2 door coupe like they were in the late 70's, 80's, and 90's. That way I won't feel bad about driving it everyday and subjecting it to the normal wear and tear that goes along with using a car for your daily transportation.

Our current Thunderbirds were a little more special. It was kind of a return to the original American icon that the little 55-57 Thunderbirds were. I kind of figured that something this special was a once in a lifetime opportunity as I can't really recall a car before or since that I wanted as much as these new Thunderbirds when they first came out in 2002.

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I hope I have as many miles & smiles with just a fix! You've enforced my faith!

Oh! No way! That's it. There's enough of us here in the area Elle, let's go take her out!!!!! How DARE she say something like that? Even if it IS true (which it isn't), how bad has customer service gotten that she feels justified in saying something like that?!?!?! I would have called the manager up there right then and gave him/her a piece of my mind.

Having replaced the windshield on my 2002 Highlander 4 times already (yes, 4), I can tell you about OEM and windshields. My insurance company authorized an OEM replacement after I tried once glass co. twice, a different co. once, and still didn't get a decent windshield. Everytime they replaced with their glass (can't remember what initials they call it by), I kept seeing wavy lines in the glass and it was so bad in one glass it gave me a headache to drive it. But the insurance co. would not authorize on OEM until I at least tried the replacements. However, having the emblem on the OEM is a better argument for a replacement.

I hope the fix holds. You should definitely call the manager and have a little talk with them.
