  • The Raven's New Curb Rash ...

I took the Raven out tonight and stopped by my Mom's to pick up her mail and water her plants. She is off to Wrightsville Beach with her bridge buddies for 2 weeks.

In attempt to out run and escape my Mom's neighborhood equivalent of Gladys Kravitz who was following me into the neighborhood I pulled to close to the curb driving up to the mailbox.

Now, the right front driver's side rim got a nice case of curb rash. There is nothing quite as bad as hearing concrete rub against a chrome rim.

Anyone have any ideas where I can pick up another one less EBay for a reasonable price?

BTW, Gladys Kravitz cornered me while I was watering the plants ... I kept my irritation in check.

I had a very similar thing happen a few months back to the driver's side wheel of my black 03. I can't get the noise out of my head of the chrome rim being crushed against the concrete curb. I'm still looking for a replacement wheel at a reasonable price.

There are companies that can repair the damaged rim. Here is a link to one that came up w/ a quick Google search. I have no experiance w/ this company, & don't know if their work is good or not.

                  Thanks, Scott.

I plan to go out tonight about 3 a.m. and make Gladys Kravitz' 4 ft. garden gnomes anatomically correct with a little bright red paint.

Find some glow in the dark paint. That would be funny.

Check the TBN classifieds. I think someone posted recently about a set of 4 premium wheels available - they might be willing to break up the set?

...had a similar experience, Joe, right after I put on the new set of whitewalls...scratched the wheel and scarred the WW!
