    48 in 08

    Some of you may know there is a small group of Early Birds travelling across the country visiting all 48 Capitals in the lower 48. THey were in Nashville yesterday and we had the pleasure of dining with them at Lanes Motor Museum.

    Chec out their Web site and look at the schedule to see when they will be in your city or town. Today they head for Frankfort, KY then on to Indiana. Great people and a wonderful trip. Today is day 28 for them and they are about 1/3 of the way.

    Looks like they'll be in Phoenix on the 22nd of September (monday)...I'll try and hunt them down. BTW, David, I love your city...Susie and I were there in 2005 for my nephew's marriage...spent all day Saturday downtown viewing the capitol building, etc. If I was smart, I'd sell everything and move to Nashville!

      Jim: Thank you, I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like Nashville. It is one of those rare cities that eems to appeal to everyone.

      Incidentally, why are we not going to see you in Vegas at Desert Thunder II?

        September 4th 10:00 - 1:00 in Trenton.
        That's only a few miles from where I work.... may need a long lunch that day.

          Unfortunately, it hits me square in the middle of Board & Committee meetings here at work...and they have this strange opinion that their meetings are more important than my fun!

                They are here in Richmond Sunday Sep 7th for couple of hours and lunch. The VCTC members will be joining them on the state capital grounds for a photo op.

                    They will be in Concord, N.H. on Sep. 1. I am hoping to be there and because I am newly retired there should be no problem.

                      If anyone from the Tidewater Chapter wants to go, please PM Fergi! She expressed an interest in a day trip. Unfortunately I cannot attend, as I will be in the Smokey Mtns at a destination wedding that weekend.

                          We had the main 3 participants in Portland Oregon while at the CTCI convention - coral sand 57, sage green 56, and white 56. They all took the driving tour out to see the Spruce Goose in McMinnville, OR. -- as if they weren't driving their birds far enough as it was.

                            They will be in Austin, Texas on Sept 15-16. Anybody else interested in some kind of meet with them?

                              I am in charge of the tour stop in Richmond, VA on Sunday, September 7. I am hoping as many Thunderbirds as possible show up. I have made the arrangements with the Capital Police and they know we are coming and we have the offical OK to drive to a position near the Capital Building and have the photos taken.

                              Right now, the only thing I can tell you is we are meeting at the 9th Street entance to the Capital Grounds at 10:00 that morning. If possible, I will be scouting a site up I-95 for people to meet and then caravan with the 48 in 08 Tour as they approach Richmond. Will let everyone know when I determine the place.

                              After pictures, we are going to Bottomsup Pizza for lunch. After lunch, the tour members are heading to North Carolina to visit the Capital in Raleigh.

                              If you think you might be able to attend, let me know so that we can tell Bottomsup Pizza about how many members will be attending.

                              Hope folks in the Mid Atlantic area can attend.
