        Re: TOO MUCH STUFF

We have two cats, three dogs, and two birds, one of the birds stays in the garage. My wife uses her T-Bird to do all of our weekly shopping and space has never been an issue. Now the new puter would cause an issue with most cars unless it's a laptop or the car was built prior to 1975. Good thing you own a truck!

Buy a SUV while they are cheap ...

Seriously, I not only shop and pack with plastic grocery bags that are fexible.

Anything, of hard construct or large mass quantities I avoid: Just won't work.

T-Bird Concepts is coming out with a Stainless Steel Trunk Rack, similar to the one that was available for the C-3 Corvettes. They have a similar one on a car pictured on their site. It's removeable and is not supposed to mar the paint? Leroy

                Re: TOO MUCH STUFF

It seems like whenever we go out in the Tbird we wind up buying things that we have to find a place in the car to get it home. Good thing the top goes down. But thats not a reason to leave the bird at home.

Having a truck is nice for lumber and the other really big stuff.

Still remembering the great time we had in Savannah!!!

                  Re: TOO MUCH STUFF

T-Birds do NOT belong in Shopping Mall Parking Lots. Period.

okay, that was cold. Srry. It's summer, take the top off!! Then, in case she wander's by MISTAKE into a lot, she will have the sky as the limit.

or..........................tell her to take the Truck shopping.

                    Re: TOO MUCH STUFF

Trucks, especially Ford F-150's, go to shopping mall parking lots. That's where trucks get their dings, trash thrown in the bed, and many other hazards happen.

I learned early on that you have to have a bungee cord or two in the trunk at all times. I use my car as a daily driver and can't relate to all this not defiling the trunk by using it for stuff talk.

                        creativity

My only car is the bird. I have to be mindful of how much I buy at one time at the grocery store. I frequently have to put large items in the passenger seat or floor to get everything home. I normally use the smaller cart and once it is full, check out and go home.

Bigger items: you would be surprised at what you can fit in the car if you are creative. I have a rather large leather office chair that I brought home in the bird. The guy at office depot laughed at me when he wheeled it out of the store and left the huge box on the ground behind the car. I simply opened the box on the spot and unpacked it into the trunk, starting with the larger pieces first.

When the box was empty, I flipped it upside down and cut the bottom tape off. Then I folded the box flaps in, flattened the box and doubled it over. it fit right on top of everything in the trunk and I brought it home too, in case I would need to return the chair.

I got home and assembled the chair and everything was fine. I went back a month later when the same model was on sale again and got another one for my girlfriend.

                        Just "think outside the box".

Yeh, do the laptop, put the dogs and cats on a diet, then sit in the parking lot and eat the shrimp.
