48-In-08 - Alabama

I plan on meeting the caravan in Montgomery on the 12th...would anyone else from around Alabama like to join up with me? I'll likely travel down from Huntsville to MGM early that morning. I know we have some TBN 'ers in Alabama, and I'd like to meet them as well, and this seems like a good an opportunity as any! Will also likely travel with the caravan to their next stop in MS, or break off and head back North to Huntsville somewhere along the way. Any takers?

Sure wish I could go with you down to Montgomery and on to MS. Bad timing for me, I have a bunch of remodeling going on. Know you'll have a good time.

No prob. We're trying to finalize the plan, but it looks like we're going to meet them at their hotel, have lunch or dinner with them, and travel part of the way to MS with them Saturday.

WOW!! That's all I can really say...WOW! It was great meeting the 48-In-08 folks in Alabama yesterday! We had the opportunity to talk and eat dinner with them, and had a great time. Really nice folks, beautiful cars, and a fun ride following them for a while to MS. We had to head back home just short of the Miss. state line, but we were able to ride with them for a while. We stopped in Selma, AL, and took some great pictures, some of which I'll post shortly.

Hi Dot! I've posted a few and will put the rest in the gallery. Including my wife and me, there were 8. We ate at a restaurant in Montgomery called Shogun's. It's a Japanese steakhouse where they actually cook your food and entertain you at your table. I think (hope!) everyone had a good time there.

I'm so glad you and Barbara were able to spend some time with the group.

Did they say anything about a change of plans for lodging Sunday night? The TV coverage of Lake Charles showed a lot of water and damage from Ike.

It seemed to me that they were trying to figure that out when I departed the group. They were pretty much playing it by ear with the Ike situation and the gas issues that they will have going in that direction. I don't really know what the final plan turned out to be, but I'm sure you could contact Lucy and she'd know by now.
