  • Rt. side dash trim (above glove box)

    Hi All,
Has anyone ever replaced a dented / scratched metal trim piece, which is located above the golve box? Mine is a bit rough, and I would like to do it myself. I cannot see any screws holding it, however. I'm sure there's a trick to it.
Also, any idea how much a new replacement piece would run?

    Thanks!
    Ross

    Ross:
Go to the dealer and price the replacement. If it is the right price range, order it. When it comes in you should be able to get an idea of what it will take to replace it. I'm thinking that it just snaps in, however it may also be glued on. If it is snaped in, you just start at one of the corners with a wide blade or spatula and work your way around until it is loose. Snap On makes a special tool for that purpose. If it is glued on, I would suggest using a heat gun to soften the glue so you don't damage the dash when removing it.

it's held in place just like the hash marks on the front fenders. the metal door trim are the only pieces that have melted pins

I have an extra, so a picture is worth a thousand words. I hope this helps.

I had a warranty replacement of mine. I had it off several times. Just pull it off. Three years ago the cost for the part was approximately $75.

Sounds like a fairly easy fix...

                Hi,
Is your extra trim piece new and "unmolested?" Wpould you be willing to sell it, and for how much?
                Thanks!

.....I wonder if that piece of trim is still available from a dealer?...
