Nice story. We treated them to lunch in Richmond before they headed to NC. Glad they made it safe and not to late. They were fun to spend some time with.

It was a nice article except for this part: Claudia Brownley of Rockingham turned up Sunday in the modern "retro" version of the Thunderbird, a re-creation that has stirred none of the passion of the original.

          That caught me off-guard too!

And what do you think was meant by this?

"Well-restored small birds can sell for $25,000 and up, but are too robust to be called antiques."

Thanks for posting the link Joe! I'm sending it out to Thunderbird Enthusiasts here, and to my Special Interest Ford Club.

It was someone I'm sure who really didn't know what they were talking about. If you know the N&O like we do in NC. I'm surprised they got the years right.

                YESTERDAY???????

Joe - we came through Raleigh yesterday, and if I had known (or remembered) we would have, well, who knows what we would have done. Charley was driving, I was asleep, and the next thing I knew he had taken a wrong exit, and we ended up at the Tripp's restaurant where we gathered before Savannah Thunder! I took over the wheel, and got us back on I-440 to 64, but I would have gladly detoured to see the Birds! I'M KICKING MYSELF!!!!!!!
