    Re: Anyone with Leaking Hardtop?

pship, Your weather stripping is shot. The weather stripping on the rear of the top that I bought was like a hollow rubber tube that was real whimpy. I cut it off and glued on some weather stripping I found at a hardware store. No more rattles. Leroy

      Re: Anyone with Leaking Hardtop?

Hi, Mine has leaked in the past with the hardtop but this time no leaks I followed the diredtions on hardtop installations and when I washed it today it didn't leak anywhere. I used the car wash with the pressure spray.

I really like the top down on the car but it is so cool looking with the hardtop that some people think we have two birds.

I tried new material during the summer but did not have top on to see if it worked. We evacuated to Charlie and Margaret's for hurricane Gustav and got in some really heavy bands of rain when we were returning to New Orleans. Not a leak with car in motion or parked. Fix is nearly impossible to explain without pictures. As soon as I get the car out of storage from IKE and take the top off I will take pictures and post. It is very simple, simple. but seems to work.
hi, my passenger side has been leaking alot and getting worse on my 2002, tried everything to fix except replace the weatherstripping on my hardtop at the dealers. It does not leak with the softop. You mention that you had a workaround fix, can you tell me how.

Steve, if you have done the hardtop adjustment and that did not solve your problem, you might also want to try a window adjustment. With the hardtop on and doors closed, raise the windows holding the switch down for an additional 3 seconds, then lower the windows and also hold the switch down for the additional 3 seconds.
Hopefully, this might solve your problem, enjoy your Bird!

A little early for the hardtop. September is great cruising weather in Jersey, especially cruising to the Chatterbox!!!!!

Just put the hardtop on my 2002 Tbird for the winter and noticed on the driver side when we open the door water splashes onto the seats. Do all Tbirds have this problem or did I do something wrong when putting on the hardtop! I'm thinking it may be one of those Quirks you have to deal with if you own a Tbird. Any Insights thoughts or remedies?

                    Re: Anyone with Leaking Hardtop?

Mine leaked badly at the front corner of the passenger side last year. It seems like there was a small gap, so I ended up inserting a small piece of soft rubber stripping from the hardware store between the windshield frame and the hardtop. That seemed to take care of the problem, and was not visible when the top was fastened on. No problems with the soft top.
