No definite date yet but, in late October or early November, the Big Shanty Barbershop here in Kennesaw, GA., will have another car show to raise money for, and awareness of, breast cancer. The ladies did this last year and had a good turnout considering it was number one. The owner has a gray 02 or 03 bird and I told her I would spread the word on our website for any of you looking for a reason to take a fall roadtrip. It should be great weather here at that time. I'll reserve a "nest" for all of us when I have more information on the exact date. I can suggest lodging and restaurants, etc., at that time. Just a "heads up" for you to consider. It is not a judged competition but just a good time with music and fellowship.

Sounds good, we are just up the road in Rocky Face GA. What is the Barber Shop? Is it actually a Barber Shop or a singing group maybe?

Note to all - it is really an old-time type barbershop (no stylin' done here) and they are all female barbers currently. Before you latch onto that comment I mean some males have worked there but not at the present time. The women, as far as I know, have always been women. Not a singing group.Comment

Bobby, I just called the Big Shanty Barbershop to inquire when the car show will be held.
The answers to the questions I asked were very vague, almost like no one knew what was going on. The only clear answer I could get was that there was a meeting held last night and the car show is temporarily going to be held the first Sunday of April, 2009, "if approved".Comment

Thanks Julie....that's a bummer, though. I was looking for a chance to get together with some of the other Bird owners from around here. Haven't been able to come to many events (for one reason or another...usually work schedule) since I bought mine. Guess I have to wait till next year!
