End of another car show season

Up here in the Great White North, the car shows are now done for yet another year (and a wet one at that). My wife and I just treated ourselves to a new Nikon SLR camera, so naturally between our Bichon and Blue Bird, the camera was put to work today.

Playing around with shaded areas, I thought I would take a pic of Blue Bird in her nest with all of her hardware won this year.

Fritz and James, thank you for the kind words. I had a lot of fun at cruise nights and car shows this year - the people I met were great !! I particularly chuckle at this very nice lady who just kept staring at Blue Bird, and came up to me and said... "What is it?? It is so gorgeous, is it some kind of kit car??" A friend of mine interjected and explained the whole retrobird thing... I don't think she was actually listening, and then she started talking about the colour...("What is it - blue, green, teal...???). anyway, lots of fun chatting with people - that is one of the true gifts of this hobby - the social aspect.

You're exactly right. The people are the best part of the car hobby. Otherwise, we're just a bunch of eccentric old farts with toys in our garages that we won't let others appreciate.

Well Mark with that much hardware to show, hardly worth spending money on Whitewalls!!! You must have had a busy summer.

After a beautiful week of driving both convertibles all week ( except for one shopping trip in the Caddy) hope to have the LeBaron put away next weekend, and the T-Bird by the end of Oct. The fun days of top down weather are looking a little sparce from now on. Put about 5,000 km (41 K now) on the Bird and 700 km (113 K now)on the LeBaron this season, so they will last for a lot of years to come. Don't buy toys very often and I make them last, I still have my 72 Suzuki 125 Trail bike in good looking and running condition.

Hi, Martin.... the whitewalls are definitely bugging me... even downloaded the Diamondback catalogue this weekend... but how do Borlas and whitewalls mix? The TBird looks so good in both blackwall and whitewall... a dilemma I will think about over our ridiculously cold winter months....

Dave, I bought and installed the Borlas a few weeks ago (WOW - has to be the BEST TBird mod !!)..... I know you love whitewalls, and with my Zenith wire wheels, the look would be great... I better write a letter to Santa....
