I realize that, but Aaron states in his sales ad that our wheels don't fit in the trunk, and some have had to transport them in the front seat. Luckily this has never happened to me, so I can't say from experience. The way I read his ad, it's suggested to put the flat tire on the rack. I know the spare is not a full size tire and rim so it probably weighs considerably less than the other four and one of them might possibly be over the 50LB weight limit. I think it's something worth knowing and testing before you buy one of these racks. Leroy

why do you say it's fugly? i for one think it's a beautiful piece of art.

because it is, i hate them tacky addon things. the chrome rings around the lights, the strip down the side of the car these things are all tacky and horrible looking. same goes with the thing that ford put on the mustangs in the 80's the thing that gm put on the poor corvette in the 70's they look horrible. if you need to haul something buy a truck dont try to put your junk on the trunklid if it dont fit in the trunk you dont need it. i

Have to agree with Vic. To me this so called luggage rack looks like a baby crib frame polished up or as someone else mentioned a refrigerator shelf.

To Leroy, I know you know about the cautions that must be taken with the auxilliary spare tire, but I also wanted you to know that the everyday tires & wheels will fit in the trunk. The deck lid may not latch and that is why I recommend to carry a elasatic cord. Some folks recommend if one does experience a blow-out to bring the sub floor of the trunk into the cabin, at least it should be clean, offering more room or depth for the damaged tire & wheel.

I have had several flat tires and the tire and rim will fit in the trunk.

Mike, Good points, I've learned something. Today I took a close look at my tire and rim and it appeared that you would be able to get it in the trunk, but I think your right about the trunk lid, a bungee would come in handy. Did you order one yet? Leroy

If you are asking have I ordered one meaning the Trunk Rack......... No I have not and I will Not.

My wife & I travel a lot, sometimes for 2-3 weeks at a time. We have learned to use soft luggage and to not to take along more than we need. Make our clothing choices at home. I must admit it is easier to pack for summer traveling than winter, but just the same we have been able to take all we need in the TBird.

Did you ever hear from Aaron about the possibility of the rack fitting into the trunk? I think that might be a deal maker/breaker for me. I am afraid if it will not fit in my garage it probably will not fit in my trunk.
