Recently purchased a 95 V8 bird with a shot automatic trans as somewhat of a project. From what I understand this AOD transmission is somewhat weak. I'm not turning her into a race car but prob going with an exhuast and a few power adders to wake up the motor. I've been entertaining the idea of converting to a 5 speed. Has anyone accomplished this task? If so any suggestions or information would be helpful. I have found the T Bird uses an M5R2 Manual Trans ? Is this the same trans used in the 6 cylinder bird ? Having a 98 Cobra Mustang parts and information was easy to come by in the tons. I'm finding parts and info on these models are somewhat vague and lacking. I had a T-Bird about 5 years ago and loved her and look forward to driving this one in the future. As I've said before, any information on the transmission would be greatly appreciated.
