  • Chrome Radiator Cap

In my continuing shopping spree for bling-bling items, I did not see anything on thefordsource.com for a chromed radiator cap for my 02 TBird. But I just noticed on ebay an item which may (?) fit the bill that is being sold for late model Mustangs (item #260153646083)... does anyone know of a source for a chrome radiator cap for our TBirds - or does anyone think the Mustang item would also fit our TBirds?

Also, I am about to order the brake fluid reservoir cap - I wonder if these actually "attach" OK - remember seeing a thread on this before with mixed reviews. Does anyone have any thoughts on these?

As always, Johnny Gumballs has been great in providing me advice... like the Borla club, maybe an unofficial Bling Bliing club is in order.

Thanks in advance to all TBNers for their advice.

      Mark,

I purchased the brake fluid reservoir cap on line and it fits just fine. Sorry, I can't remember who I ordered from. But I think they are all the same.....

Does anyone know the difference between the Anniversary chrome hood insert and the Neiman Marcus insert, other than the price?

I don't think that there is any difference.

I put the Anniversary one on mine and it looks great!

No difference. Same piece. I have ordered both at various times for Tbirds. Go with the cheap one the 50th anniversary one. That is Fords confusion, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing like usual, especially if it has a Tbird name on it. Lou

If you really want to chrome the engine I know a place in Canada that for about 300 US will do the whole plastic cover over the engine triple platedIt would blind you on a sunny day when you open the hood.

Funny you mention that Deryl. Earlier this week, a friend of mine suggested CV Vacuum Platers in British Columbia, so I phoned them. I was so impressed with the gentleman on the phone, I will be sending various engine pieces to them in a week or two (the beautiful weekend here in Ottawa has delayed storing Blue Bird for another week). He described the process, estimated very reasonable costs, and now I don't have to deal with crossing the border with the parts. I have a business trip to BC next month, and he even invited me to see the plant.

Very impressed. Looking forward to the results over the winter.

                      thanks for the tip.

Still looking around for the coolant cap - on various Mustang sites, there appears to be a chrome cover which looks like it will fit our TBirds - it is for a '96 to '04 4.6litre engine - does anyone think that one will fit the Thunderbird? Thanks !!
