  • Performance Enhancing Rugs

They're in, my new Performance Enhancing Rugs (i.e., mats), in violation of NCAA, NFL, MLB, and IOC regs. This one's for you Rusty, can't wait to have them installed and try them out. (The Bird is garage locked for a couple of days as the driveway was just sealed today).

Hi John... a belated welcome to the nest..... careful when you talk about performance enhancing rugs on this site... many people will think you are talking about hair pieces or implants....

By the way, which performance enhancing rug did you buy?

      Re: Performance Enhancing Rugs

Thunderbird Concepts floor and trunk mats. They look great with the Tbird logo on them. I've got a trip to Ocean City Maryland next week for a conference and hope to take the Bird instead of my truck, weather permitting.

Actually there's not much chance that a 'head' rug would help that much. I tell my wife that I like topless driving just to feel the wind blow through my scalp. Back in the day I had a '59 MGA and hair. I distinctly remember knots in it if I didn't wear a hat.

I got my carpets from Thunderbird concepts too. They wear really, really well - you will be very happy with them.

I remember one of the weight saving measures on my 95 Supra was that the carpets and mats were made with hollow core fibers. That seemed a bit out there.

                  Re: Performance Enhancing Rugs

Maintaining the correct center of gravity to achieve the desired performance requires both floor and trunk mats - otherwise the purpose is defeated.

With me in the car any weight saving measures are an exercise in futility anyway.

                    Re: Performance Enhancing Rugs

Those mats are very nice. I have two sets. One for driving and the other set I take to shows and put them in when I arive at a show and take them out before I sit in the car. So they still look brand new after two years.
