I (actually my wife) am the proud owner of a 2002 model and I have noticed that the headlamp assemblies are becoming fogged. I am searching for a product that will work to clear it up but failing that I might have to opt for replacing the headlamps. That said, the cost for the 2002 model is between $320 and $420 depending which side is being replaced. The cost for the same assemblies on an 03-04 model is $85 to $175. Two questions, why do you suppose there is such a marked difference between the years costwise and will the headlamp assemblies from the 03-04 fit an 02? Thanks for any and all responses.

Re: Headlamp Assemblies
The 02 headlamp is priced as a collectable. Its not made anymore as it was subject to cracking in the mounting posts. The 03 version was an improvement in design, but it also fits the 02's exactly the same as the original.

Re: Headlamp Assemblies
You could say that it's very similar to the pricing between the NM chrome hood scoop bezel and the Cashmere chrome hood scoop bezel - both the same part.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Re: Headlamp Assemblies
There have been what I assume to be after-market brands (probably Chinese imports) on e-bay that show up occasionally if you care to go that direction. Not sure of the price but the "buy it now" price was definitely less than $100.00.

You may find other threads by doing a search above. Not sure who got the proper resolution though.

Re: Headlamp Assemblies
You may want to check your local Wallyworld... Our Wal-Mart has a poster at the entrance now that advertises that they will restore headlight lenses in their automotive department while you wait.

I have them on my Bird and 2004 Caddy and they still look brand new.
P.S. Ed, they are only put on with a water solution and then squeeged so they can be taken off

Re: Headlamp Assemblies
Thanks George, I will see what I can find here locally. I was told that keeping them waxed every time you polish the car helps preserve them also.
Tried the restorer on my 98 Caddy and it wouldn't do a thing but it is more pitting from highway driving than UV deterioration or yellowing.
