So far, no one has mentioned the shifter knob difference from the one used on actual production T-birds either.

Dave, glad that the search engines are working well for my site. Seems to come and go. yahoo gives me some data that tells me how my site is ranking for "2002, 2003. 2004, and 2005 Ford Thunderbird" searches. During the spring and summer, I was running 1st or 2nd with 3 different search engines; now I'm in 3rd spot on all 3. Haven't checked to see whose in 1st and 2nd.

James, hadn't noticed - will have to look at some other photos but I think that one is the best that I have of those early promo tbirds. Didn't know at the time that I'd be looking that close at the pictures.

The shifter looks like it has contoured finger grips with a thumb release on top, instead of the ball shape with the release button to the front. That may just be an illusion, or it may be my meds messing with my eyes.

It looks like they took the cigarete lighter out so no one would steal it.

P.S. This is where my "EJECT" Button is now.

Surprising what one can find when looking thru my old photos. I took some of a black tbird in March of 2001 (probably at the Ft. Worth Auto Show), so you know it was a preproduction and may have been one of the cars shown at the debut in Detroit in January 2001.
I noticed the dash - sorry for the photo quality but I didn't have a high res camera at that time.
NOte the dash where the lighter and other misc. accessories are on the 2002 model and compare to this 2001 photo. Can anyone tell me what those "accessory" items were? Were they on the 01 Lincoln LS?
