Changes with the style of boot did not occur until the 03 came out -- which didn't occur until Nov. 2002. The original owner is the most likely source of yours having the 03+ boot.

I did forget to mention one thing. My website is loaded with info (with many thanks to the members here for their tips and tricks), including how to install the boot:

Why are your rolling it? It folds nicely in quarters and still fits in the cubby.

          Hi, Martin.

I have gone toy shopping again. I recently ordered the fibreglass 2 piece tonneau cover for bluebird, so my original 02 boot cover will be "retired". As others have mentioned in this thread, the original boot cover for 02 is "stiff" - in fact, I always keep it opened flat when not in use and have it mounted on the wall of the birds nest (garage), where the boot is just slightly touching the ground but still suspended using the holes in each of the fastener loops (sorry, I am probably not clear in my description).

Anyway, I always drooled when looking at pictures of Retrobirds with the fibreglass covers - so finally I will have one and get it painted to match the car in the Spring.

Just to add to the varied choices for tonneau covers to "decorate" our cherished Birds.
