OK, I see that (with the top down) I need to install a dash kit. I am unsure of how to remove the gearsift knob. I don't want some springs bouncing around due to my incompetnance. also is the original Aluminum? trim available from Ford? I have dents in mine on the drivers side door and the panel marked Thunderbird. thanks Jon

Re: removing the gear shift knob?
Hope this helps Jon, http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forum...t+knob+removal
The search button will help you find answers to most all of your questions, just enter trim into the search area and I suspect all sorts of threads will show up to help you locate the trim you need. Just be sure to be specific as to which year Thunderbird you own, as the trim patterns do vary from year to year.

"Twist over the knob", that sounds good. Ok I will order one and confer later. My wife may not be happy with immediate mods so I may need to wait a week or two. Love in the bids nest you know .;.. Jon

Re: removing the gear shift knob?
We have Borla's on our 2002, here in Kalifornia. They sound SMOOOOOOTH!
Borla's were made in Ventura, CA, until just recently. I think that they are moving to Tennessee or somewhere in the Midwest as we speak. Cheaper to manufacture in the Midwest, I assume.Jerry & Kim's
