  • Sirius Adapter

I am new to the forum and look forward to connecting with other owners.

I have a 2004 Thunderbird I bought new that has 16,000 miles on it, I don't have much of a commute.

My first question relates to the adapter that is used to make Sirius work with the built in radio. I am currently using an after market adapter but would like to get the Ford OEM version. Does anyone know the part number of the adapter, my local dealer didn't have a clue, although you would think they could look it up in the computer

    Thanks for any responses.

If you go to the web site radiosandmore.com you will find that part there. Ford dealers don't usually carry that as they send out all their radio work. At least every dealer I have ever dealt with. Just google radios and more and you will find the site. If you don't see it, call their 800 number. The owner answers and is extremely knowledgeable.

      Re: Sirius Adapter

My Ford dealer didn't have a clue either. The owners manual says to contact your Ford dealer to get the system installed and activated. So I did some checking on my own and found that the Sirius System was a box in the trunk, with an antenna that sits on your dash board. I think the best choice I found was XM radio, I liked it becuase it all mounts under the dash incuding the antenna, out of site and if I remember right it cost less too. But becuase I don't drive the car alot I haven't had it intalled yet. We have XM in our 08 Malibu LTZ and we love it, we've never used the CD player at all and the car is a year old next month. Satilite Radio is the only way to go, if you ask me. All my cars in the future will have it. Leroy

            Re: Sirius Adapter

I have the original install sheet for the factory Sirius adapter. The placement for the adapter is the left support brace in the trunk and the antenna stuck on the middle of the trunk, which I disregarded, placing it outside of the trunklid gasket in the drain channel completely out of sight. Only thing that is in the cockpit is the control cables that are run to the rear of the h/u.
And it works great I might add
